…that’s not so little. It’s dropped an inch of rain in the last hour and a half or so and the rain continues to fall at a pretty good clip. There’s some intermittent thunder and lightning but it’s mainly a heavy rain event, and I’m sure that Ashley Ave. is once again flooded.

Yeah, how ’bout 70 gallons of rain water in my living room and half the ceiling fell down. We started working on adding a roof onto the cement slab we have on the back of the house, and didn’t finish up or get far enough along with it to seal the roof, so yeah, big big disaster. Filing an insurance claim today, I believe.
That’s terrible to hear man — best of luck with the insurance claim, and my hopes for a quick recovery.
We’re rolling along pretty well. I’m pretty sure the plywood and tarpaper go up today, at a very minimum. It’s been such a chaotic 7 days that I hadn’t thought to check the rain gauge in the front yard and it was filled to the top, which is 6.5 inches! I know it was empty six days ago (Saturday), so that’s a lot of rain for six days…most of which came down in the middle of the livingroom. :(
I’ve been taking pictures of the entire project with my mom’s crappy camera, and when it’s all done, I’ll have a page set up for that.
