A friendly reminder from Windows Vista…

Vista DST Reminder

One more hour to sleep/party, depending on what you are doing tonight in celebration of Halloween. I’m somewhat relieved that I don’t have to hang decorations around JaredWSmith.com for its color scheme is Halloween year-round. ;)

Just a side note: A new bill in 2005 enacted that Daylight Saving Time will begin on the second Sunday in March, 2007 and end on the first Sunday in November,2007. This will extend the DST time by almost a month. Mark your calendars! I wonder if our computers will know this!

They’ll probably get an update to figure out this new change. I’m more worried about my phone, personally…

I was watching several devices that are “smart” and know when DST is and it was pretty weird watching them go from 1:59 back to 1:00. I noticed my cellphone went into “no service” mode for about 10 seconds as it was updating the time from the system (Verizon).

And as far as the new DST bill, that’s just plain stupid. Do they have any idea how many devices are out there that can’t be re-programmed for this new change? I for one will refuse to abide by the new ways. In all honestly, I think we should just get rid of DST altogether.
