Last night’s Panther loss was ridiculous, especially on the heels of a Redskins game that should have been a serious wakeup call to the team. The sad thing about all this is even at 6-6, Carolina has a legitimate shot at a wild-card berth in the NFC — that’s how weak the conference is. But getting down to the 7 and then throwing an interception in the end zone is just piss-poor, period. I didn’t see the end of the game so I’m not quite sure of the dynamic surrounding it, but that sort of thing just shouldn’t be happening. Fire Dan Henning. It’s just not working out.

Last night really ushered in the reality of exam season. I was perched in a study room at the library with several others until about 3:30 in the morning — and this wasn’t even for a final. Today was just one last test in my communication theory course, which was conveniently pushed to today because of Tropical Breeze Ernesto earlier in the year. At least I’ll have a quarter of the final already accounted for. :) There will be more studying for that tonight. Right now, let’s just say my brain isn’t functioning properly at all. I managed to get the test finished up and now things are just a blur. I fully anticipate leaving work in a couple hours to go home and sleep until the next study session at 5 tonight.
Here’s how my schedule shakes out for the next couple weeks.
- Wednesday, 8am: Public Speaking exam. Not worried. :)
- Thursday, 8am: The aforementioned comm. theory exam. I’ll need to go over all the stuff — and in this course, it’s a LOT of stuff — over the next couple days to do well on this. I’d like to do well on it…obviously. :P
- Saturday, 12 Noon: Meteorology exam. The concepts are pretty straightforward, but the prof is a big fan of detail (though last time I provided too much detail and got a couple things mixed up!) It’s heavily curved, which is a good thing, though I need to really kick this exam’s butt to get an A in the class.
- Wednesday The 13th (scary!), 8am: Biology exam. This one is going to be a serious doozy (and it really shouldn’t be, but it is for reasons I won’t discuss here). In a way, it’s a real blessing that there are several days separating meteorology from biology — it’ll be a nice little break and the extra time to study will be useful. Hopefully no all-nighters will be involved here.
So that’s my exam hell, in a nutshell. It’s just nuts.
Off to attempt to function at work for a couple hours…
