ReadWriteWeb has a great article about how Twitter is being more seriously used as a news and discussion tool, rather than just status — in other words, an article about something most of us Twitter folk already do.

Discussion of Twitter as a news tool is now closed
I have to say, I’m with Shoemoney on this one, I just don’t get it. http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/01/30/twitter-i-just-dont-get-it/
My advice is to join and just start following people and see what happens. The neat thing about Twitter is that there isn’t just one thing it’s useful for; you can adapt it to however you like. It’s still very hard to describe for people; you really just have to jump into the fray.
I like twitter as a news organization, which is why I set up a twitter account for The State Newspaper. Check it out @thestate or @thestatesports updates throughout the day with useful information.
If they could keep it running for more than three hours at a time, I’d be all over it.
