After a few false starts, I’m going to be finally taking a breather and heading up to Atlanta tomorrow with some friends. We’re going to catch the bloodied and bruised Braves (who just can’t catch a break) as they host the Milwaukee Brewers. The Braves found Chuck James to make the start against Jeff Suppan. […]
As promised, here’s my guest post on YanksBlog.com about Phil Hughes and Carl Pavano’s rehab appearances for the RiverDogs Tuesday night. The rain really kept a lot of folks away, so I had a little more freedom of movement than I was anticipating. I was frightened the game wouldn’t even happen! I’ll write more about […]
This is one Internet that Ted Stevens wish never arrived: He’s been indicted on seven counts of making false statements. This is part of a probe that’s ensnared a few others already. Regardless of the indictment, this is as good of a time as ever to remember the first time Ted Stevens did something for […]
Folks in Charleston will get to see a rare sight later tonight, as Carl Pavano and Phil Hughes of the New York Yankees will embark on rehabilitation assignments with our Single-A RiverDogs against Asheville at 7:05. I’ll be covering the game for YanksBlog.com. Major leaguers don’t stop by often; the last one that I know […]
Apparently some former Google folk decided they could do search better. Enter Cuil, which is becoming a synonym for fail. UPDATE(S): Cuil does a number on Patrick’s iFroggy Network. Someone, erm, sidestepped the Wikipedia neutrality guidelines in the Cuil article. I’m quoted in Veronica Belmont’s analysis of Cuil. The Girl Riot also points to my […]
Lots of tangents on tonight’s Serious Business; just the way I like it. We talked more Apple Store, bashed Windows a little bit, and got into a decent baseball discussion with lots of little tangents to connect it all together, including my odd Saturday night! In case you missed it, here’s the show: Serious Business […]
Don’t forget about Serious Business tomorrow night at 8:30. We’ll be talking Apple Store, why Windows’ days in my household are numbered, and whatever tangents we find ourselves on along the way. It’s 8:30 tomorrow night, and it’s Serious Business.
Yes, folks, it’s open. After months of anticipation, Charleston, and South Carolina, for that matter, finally has an Apple retail store — officially the King Street Apple Store — in the heart of downtown. No more drives to Charlotte for a Genius Bar. It’s a pretty sweet thing for Apple fanatics and technology consumers in […]
I’ve been taking a closer look at my last.fm statistics, and it’s been interesting watching the trends evolve. Most notably, there is definitely evidence of my trending away from a smooth jazz/newage/Weather Channel phase back to a more mainstream hard rock selection of music again.
I’ve been running across some neat stuff on the ‘Nets these days, such as… The redesigned last.fm. It’s really improved; the social networking aspects are far stronger now, as friend requests are actually highlighted better, and they’re even adding a little News Feed-like action. It’s also nice that I can see my loved tracks (I […]
